Yoshida’s Sand in the City is the primary fundraiser and community outreach opportunity for Kids on the Block. The 13th annual sand sculpting benefit for Kids on the Block, will be held July 18th – 20th at Pioneer Courthouse Square in downtown Portland. On Friday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., more than 450 tons of sand will be sculpted into giant sculptures by local companies and organizations. The sculptures will be on display throughout the weekend. In addition, there will be live music and performances on the main stage, a kids village full of fun crafts, Kids on the Block puppet performances, and a giant sandbox for the kids. Admission is free, however donations are accepted. All proceeds help fund performances in local schools by Kids on the Block.
