New Flickr RSS Feed Support for Slideshow Pastie |
|
If you haven't been using the WebPasties slideshow component lately, now you have no excuse. With WebPasties' new Flickr RSS feed support, you can have your slideshow access photos from your Flickr account. No need to manually upload photos to your web server anymore. After you post new photos to Flickr, your WebPasties slideshow will then update automatically within an hour's time. One added benefit is that when a visitor to your site clicks on a photo in a WebPasties slideshow originating from a Flickr Feed, they will then be taken to the Flickr site where they can see the photo in its original size as well as make comments on it.
Disclaimer: WebPasties™ and Yahoo® (the company that owns Flickr) do not have a business relationship going on or anything. We're just taking advantage of some of their publically available interfaces. Thats all. |

New Event Calendar Pastie |
|
A new pastie has arrived. The Event Calendar pastie makes it as easy as possible to add a calendar to your website. This calendar is extremely powerful in that you can add practically any type of recurring event combination. For example let's say you meet on every third Thursday of every other month. No problem. Also, this pastie is probably the most ambitious pastie to date. Unique to this pastie is the ability to create user accounts and let certain people edit or add events without letting them modify your calendar's look and feel. I haven't forgot about making it fun though. You can choose from 36 holidays to include in your calendar. I made sure to include the important ones like Mardi Gras and St. Patty's Day. It also shows the moon phase which can be useful for those late night skinny dipping events. Have fun with it. |

WebPasties Misses Out on DEMO on Technicality |
|
WebPasties almost got into DEMO, but missed out due to a technicality. Read more about it in Chris Shipley's Newsletter.
DEMO is the antithesis of a technology trade show. DEMO products come from all corners of the industry and from companies large and small. Yet regardless of size, each company endures the same screening and is presented in a level environment at the conference. Executive Producer Chris Shipley and a team of experts evaluate and select the demonstrators by key criteria.
Although I am totally envious of those companies that did make DEMO, I would still like to express my deepest appreciation to Chris Shipley in taking a look at WebPasties and giving us a shot. Thank you Chris. |
