What subscriptions packages do you offer?
$15 per month | 10,000 feeds included |
$60 per 6 months | 60,000 feeds included |
Do all subscriptions packages include all 9 pasties?
Yes, they do and when new pasties are created, you will be able to use them too at no extra charge.
Am I restricted to deploying my pasties to only one Website?
No, you can deploy your pasties to as many Websites or Blogs as you want. Keep in mind though
that you are limited to the number of feeds included in your subscription plan.
For example should you be using the $60 per 6 months subscription plan
which includes 60,000 hits per 6 month period, the total feed count from all your sites
cannot exceed 60,000 feeds during the 6 month period.
What is all this feed count business? What constitutes a feed?
The feed count refers to every time one of your pasties is pulled or viewed by a visitor to your site.
Suppose you have a web page that has two Web Polls, one RSS Ticker, and one Visit Tracker on it. Each time
someone visits this page (including yourself), your feed count usage will be increased by four. In addition, each time
one of your podcasts or RSS feeds are downloaded, that constitutes as a feed.
In case you wonder why I bother with this feed count monitoring, I do it is so I can charge people more fairly with regards to what their
operational costs are to me.
If I were to purchase a reserve feed bundle, would the reserve feeds carry over to the next month?
That is correct. Suppose you have a Lifetime subscription (no longer available for purchase), whereby you get
10,000 feeds for free each month. Lets say your site uses exactly 20,000 feeds each month, thereby going over the
limit by 10,000 feeds. If you were to purchase a 60,000 feed reserve feed bundle, that would supply
you with reserve feeds to last 6 months.
Do you offer education pricing, bulk licensing discounts or discounts after a certain number of licenses?
No. Instead of spending my time devising multi-tiered pricing, building a billing system
to support it, and then enforcing my decisions I would much rather focus on improving WebPasties.
When I try to install a WebPasties component in a WordPress post, the JavaScript gets stripped. What gives?
Log into WordPress and go to Users | Personal Options.
Uncheck the option Use the visual rich editor when writing. Click Update Profile
I would like to install WebPasties on my server. Do you offer that option?
No. WebPasties is sold as a service similar to Yahoo Mail. Just as you cannot install Yahoo Mail on your server,
the same goes for WebPasties. One of the serious benefits of being a Web service is that most bugs that are reported are fixed within a day. Downloadable
software that you install on your server usually takes months between releases that include bug fixes.
Why didn't you answer my support question?
If you submit a support ticket with a wrong return email address you won't be able to receive an answer from me.
If you, or your email client, or your email server, or your ISP has a misconfigured anti-spam filter you might not be able to receive an answer from me.
If you, or your email client, or your email server, or your ISP requires a manual authentication from me to be able to send you an email you might not receive an answer from me!
If your email box is full you won't be able to receive an answer from me.
So in conclusion make sure that your email address is simply reachable.
If you don't receive an answer from WebPasties after one week, use another email address so that I can contact you, otherwise you'll think that I ignore your support questions although I strongly try to answer them!
The problems mentioned here above occur in particular with RoadRunner, Prodigy, Earthlink, SBCGlobal, Pacbell, AOL and similar other protected email addresses. (If you experience a problem you can try to use Free, Yahoo or Hotmail email addresses which work correctly.)
These are all sales FAQ's. Where can I get FAQ's on the pasties themselves?
I do not have a credit card or PayPal account. Can I pay some other way?
Yes, You can always mail a check made out to Michael Burgess to the address on the contact page.
How do I get to the page where I can subscribe?
After you sign in, you should see a couple credit card logos that you can click which will take you to the subscription window.
Why isn't WebPasties free?
I want to continue to provide well documented and supported kick ass software. This is more than a fulltime occupation for me, and it would simply not be possible to offer this software free of charge without acting like my competition and plastering annoying ad banners everywhere. Some people say I should offer the service for free at a loss for a couple years. Then after I have millions of subscribers, change the rules and start charging everyone. I personally don't like this strategy because it creates an environment
that is dishonest to the customer, requires early investment by vulture
venture capitalists, and usually fails.
Why WebPasties?
WebPasties is a focused and savvy web service provider,
specializing in ad free professional customizable components. WebPasties is a private, internally funded and stable company. We have no investors looking over our shoulders nor do we worry about our stock value. We run an efficient and profitable organization and pass these savings on to our customers. We are technologists that develop high quality services and our goal is to be the value provider of software component services.
Are the subscriptions recurring?
No. I decided to make it so that you need to manually resubscribe. This way, should you forget about WebPasties, you don't have to worry about us charging you anyways. For your information, should you be subscribed to some other service that is a recurring PayPal subscription, I have listed the steps below that you need to take to unsubscribe. PayPal makes it way more difficult than necessary.
- Log into PayPal
- Click "History"
- Select "Subscriptions" from the "Show:" drop-down box.
- You may need to select a longer timeframe from the "For:" drop-down box if you have had your account longer than a month. Try selecting "Past Year".
- Press submit.
- You should see an entry called "Subscription Creation" with "WebPasties 6 Month Subscription" in the "Name/Email" column. There will be a link in the "Status" column that tells you the status of the subscription. If it says "Active", click it.
- Click the button that says "Cancel Subscription" and follow the remainder of the steps.
Where can I buy a WebPasties shirt for my dog?
People ask this question all the time. Why don't you just mosey on down to the WebPasties Boutique over at CafePress. There
you will find all kinds of WebPasties schwag you could easily live without.
