Slideshows FAQ's

How can I improve the load speed of my Slideshow?
By resizing your images to the width and height you specify for your slideshow the load time can be significantly reduced. There are many image resizers available for download. One of them you might want to try is the Mihov Image Resizer.
How do I find the RSS feed URL for my photos?
Click on the "Your Photos" link and then scroll down to the bottom of the page and look for a link that looks like below:
Once you find the link, click on it and copy the URL that shows up in the Location bar of your Web browser. You can verify that this is the correct URL by pasting it into Feed Validator and checking to make sure it is a valid feed.
I use a hosting provider (GoDaddy) that does not permit me to turn on automatic directory indexing for my image directories. What should I do?
Simply copy the contents below to a file named index.php and then plunk it in each of your image directories on your website. The automatic scanning for the slideshow should work.

index.php

I have a slideshow that uses a RSS feed.   How do I stop the captions from appearing?
There is a new option under the Appearance category that allows you to hide the captions.
How come the transitions aren't working?
The transition effects are only supported on IE 5.5 or better web browsers. Fortunately over 75% of all web surfing is done with IE 5.5 or better. Your slideshow will still work on other browsers minus the transition effects. To find out what percentage of your web traffic is IE 5.5 or better we suggest using our Visit Tracker.
UPDATE - Slideshow pasties will now fall back to a fade transition effect for non IE browsers. The only caveat is that you need to ensure that the width and height of the source images match exactly with the width and height of your slideshow image.
Can I put more than one Slideshow on my webpage?
Yes, you can put as many slideshows as you want on a single webpage.
How do I display a Slideshow inside my TypePad blog?
For a step by step guide, check out the How To titled How to Display a Slideshow Inside Your TypePad Blog.
Can I format my slide's text with HTML?
Yes, the slide's description can contain all the basic HTML tage. You can even insert images with the <img...> tag.
I have a general question that is not specific to the Slideshow pastie. Where do I go?
Go to the General WebPasties FAQ's page for pre-sales and general questions.
